The Diversity Services Office, formerly the Office of Institutional Compliance, has been established to compile and publish the University’s annual Affirmative Action Plan, investigate complaints of alleged violations and the rights of persons based on membership in protected classes, and serve the University’s interest in promoting a diverse campus climate.
The Diversity Services Office is located in Sweetheart Circle in the Rosenwald building Room 1066.

Title IX Compliance
Sex Discrimination, Harassment, and Assault: Georgia Southern University Title IX Coordinators
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination. It reads in part:
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

Sex discrimination includes sexual harassment and sexual assault.
While it is often thought of as a law that applies to athletics programs, Title IX is much broader than Athletics and applies to many programs at Georgia Southern University. While compliance with the law is everyone’s responsibility at Georgia Southern, you a can find a list of staff members here who have primary responsibility for Title IX compliance.
