Every year, the Georgia Southern University Foundation welcomes alumni and friends to its annual 1906 Annual Giving Society Event to recognize the men and women who help make the University a success. In addition to honoring mid-level supporters and annual supporters, this year’s gathering on September 18, at the Eugene M. Bishop Alumni Center, recognized supporters that have reached milestone years of consecutive giving at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by dueling pianos, which provided opportunities to sing and dance along to favorite songs by request.
Membership in the 1906 Annual Giving Society:
Annual Gifts of $1,200 or more made during the fiscal accounting period July 1 – June 30
Cumulative Lifetime Gifts of $12,000-$24,999
Once contributors have reached $25,000, they will move into the Marvin S. Pittman Society and will only remain as a 1906 Society member if they qualify on the annual level of $1,200 or more during the fiscal year.
The donations may be designated to specific funds or used for scholarships or initiatives that enhance teaching, research, cultural activities and economic development. Couples’ gifts are combined to count as one household. Matching gifts, as well as gifts-in-kind, are counted in the cumulative giving totals. Contribution totals are calculated at the close of the fiscal accounting period July 1 through June 30 each year.
