Office of Government Relations and Community Engagement
The Office of Government Relations and Community Engagement acts as an advocate for the University at federal, state and local levels. This includes monitoring legislation related to higher education, working with legislators and their staffs to influence public policy, and increasing awareness of the University’s research and educational programs and their impact on the region and state.
Our mission is to favorably position Georgia Southern University among all levels of government for opportunities to secure public support through appropriations that foster fiscal sustainability and build programs to promote academic excellence, research activity, economic development, and recognition as one of the best public doctoral research universities in the country.
Additionally, we will advise and educate faculty, staff and students regarding University diplomatic protocol and special event policies.
