The LGBTQ+ ERG welcomes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning employees to promote the recruitment and retention of employees as well as provide support for employee families, LGBTQ+ students, and the education of the University community about LGBTQ+ issues.

The Mission of the LGBTQ+ ERG is to be a strategic partner with the Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) at Georgia Southern University to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion through continual learning. The LGBTQ+ ERG will advance the understanding and inclusion of employees with a common background, set of interests and/or goals. The vision, mission, goals, policies, and activities of LGBTQ+ ERG are fully aligned with those of the OIE’s mission, goals, and policies.

The LGBTQ+ ERG will be a valuable mechanism to: (1) build a culture that fosters awareness, respect, and inclusion in the workplace; (2) establish programs and activities aligned with the mission of Georgia Southern University and the action plan of the OIE; (3) provide employees opportunities to develop and grow, and for supervisors to identify solutions to recruit and retain valuable employees at Georgia Southern University.

Membership Eligibility
