Armstrong/Liberty Campus

The Armstrong/Liberty TRIO Student Support Services is a program for current or incoming students who need academic assistance and other services to be successful at the University. Funded by a Department of Education federal grant to the University, the project provides advising, instruction, tutoring, mentoring and informational workshops for eligible participants.

Additional Benefits

Active TRIO-SSS participants receive priority registration and are eligible to request Grant-in-Aid. Funds are awarded based on Federal guidelines. Active participants are those who are following their IASP and have not missed more than 2 required activities in their IASP in the month prior their grant application submission.  Grant-in-Aid Application

How Can I Participate?

TRIO Student Support Services are available for first-generation college students, students from low-income families and students with disabilities. If you meet any of these criteria, you may apply for TRIO.

TRIO Study Lounge

The TRIO study lounge, located in Solms Hall room 208, provides students a place to work on assignments, meet with TRIO tutors and attend TRIO workshops. The computer lounge is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.


Nationally, Student Support Services’ mission is “…to provide opportunities for academic development, assist with basic college requirements, and to motivate first generation, low income and disabled students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education.”
