FAQ

What is a Strategic Plan?

A Strategic Plan is a vital document that helps to define the goals, priorities and values of a particular institution. At the same time, a Strategic Plan offers concrete ways to achieve those goals, uniting key stakeholders as they work together to achieve common outcomes.

Georgia Southern’s Strategic Plan will offer a five-year vision for the future and will focus on specific actions as well as measurable outcomes in key areas. Higher education is constantly changing, so Georgia Southern must respond to today’s challenges and opportunities with a clear set of goals, strategies and actions for tomorrow that have been developed and embraced by our community. The ideas articulated in Georgia Southern’s Strategic Plan will help to move the University forward in exciting new directions.

The strategic planning process offers the opportunity to think creatively about Georgia Southern’s future, creating a vibrant road map for success. In an effort to make this process as inclusive as possible, Georgia Southern is hosting a series of Town Halls on all three campuses, gathering ideas and feedback from as many members of the University community as possible. In addition, the University’s mission and vision statements are being strategically updated.

Building on an impressive legacy of academic excellence, Georgia Southern’s new Strategic Plan will offer a collective vision for the future, helping take the University to new heights and new levels of success.
